How a gynecology visit usually goes

It starts with questions: how your periods are, how past pregnancies went, what conditions or medicines you have, and what is worrying you. These subjects are private, and talking about them is part of care.

Every examination is explained first and happens only with your consent. If needed, blood tests, an ultrasound or a cervical screening test are requested, and the results are read together with the examination. In fertility checks both partners are considered.

Treatment options are explained with the benefits and risks of each, and any plans for pregnancy count in the decision. Sometimes the best step for now is monitoring.
